Friends -

We, like most of you, I suspect, are way over-subscribed to various publications. Around here, even the best ones tend to pile up, unread, like snow flakes during the Minnesota basketball tournament season. The problem is finding the time to keep up - or ignoring all the other things that demand attention.

It is our habit, when heading somewhere where we will be stuck in a waiting room for a while, to grab a handful of magazines, stuff them in a book bag, and hope that the doctor is running late.

Such was the case yesterday. While waiting for Mrs. Ho Ho to finish a doctor visit, I read most of an April 2006 issue of New Scientist, one of my favorites. (N.S. is a British publication roughly equivalent to Scientific American in the U.S., but with tongue a bit farther into cheek.) I have read or subscribed to it since the early 80s. I found a wonderful assortment of articles on the nature (especially the bio-chemical nature) of attraction and love - both cross gender and same gender attraction.

Whatever sort of relationship you are, or wish to be, in, there may be insights here for you.

Here is a link which leads to most of the stories.

Many of the stories are complete on-line. Others are available only in summary form, unless you have a subscription. However, if there is something of real interest to you, you may be able to find this publication in a local library. Try a university library, if there is one close to you.
