I'm surprised Brooklyn Red Leg hasn't been all over this story. A comment to the story that touched me:

Andrea Ramirez
This article does not mention that it took the DA three weeks to start interviewing witnesses. This article does not mention the intimidation tactics conducted by the Police Union against the Friends of Fullerton's Future, an online local news source. This article does not mention Kelly Thomas was beaten into a coma before being taken to the hospital. This article does not mention that Kelly Thomas' neck was crushed by the slamming of a police officer's knee. This article does not mention that after the severe beating, after Kelly Thomas died in the hospital, four out of the six police officers involved were still on active duty. This article does not mention that the police department continued to lie about a couple of officers sustaining broken bones from the altercation....not true. Now the Fullerton Police Department is saying the officers involved only sustained soft tissue damage, i.e. bruises from beating a man so badly that he was unrecognizable to his own father. Keep your attention on this story. Do not let it fade. Keep the pressure on Fullerton PD, on Fullerton City Council, and on all media outlets. The spotlight needs to stay on this story until the end.

A male witness says the man, identified as Thomas, was sitting on a bench when he was approached by two officers and ran from them. The man says police used a stun gun on Thomas six times.
"They caught him, pound his face, pound his face against the curb ... and they beat him up," the man said. "They beat him up, and then all the cops came and they hogtied him, and he was like, 'Please God! Please Dad!'"

Kelly Thomas was harmless by all accounts, and people claim that officers would have been familiar with him, it all just seems so senseless.
