I know I'm not the only parent on this board. Something happend the other day that I wanted to share and I don't think it fits anywhere else. So I thought maybe a thread like this would be okay.
Yesterday my family and I were riding in the car. We'd been trying to find the place on the north side of Chicago to drop off our broken TV. We're southsiders so had to call information a couple of times. By the time we had found it and we're heading to our next destination both girls (ages 5 and 3) were a little tired and whiny. My youngest whined, "I'm hot." Then my oldest said, "I'm hungry." Drawing on my own childhood experiences I fell back on a classic reponse, "I thought your names were **** and ****, not hot and hungry." As the words left my mouth I thought of Dimensions.
