I don't know if this question has been asked on here. Many people are advocates of gay marriage and indeed five states in the Union have already legalized gay marriage while a couple of others are in the process of allowing it.
If gay marriage is already allowed in five states then why do you believe polygamy is not allowed in any state? One can argue that a man can marry another man he loves, but why can't that same man marry two other men? Or why can't a man marry the two women he loves with consent? In my father's homeland, a man can marry up to four women.
Is it because there are no strong advocates of polygamy as the LGBT fights for gay marriage? Would divorce and alimony be complicated? What are your thoughts and opinions?
