HEATHER Mills branded Paul McCartney a "wifebeater" because he's set to launch a custody battle for their daughter, it was claimed yesterday.

The former Beatle is said to be concerned that Heather is no longer "stable" enough to care for two-year-old Beatrice.

His close friends claim his estranged wife was so incensed by this she authorised the leak of court documents discrediting Macca.

In a sensational twist to their bitter multi-million pound divorce, 38-year-old Heather has accused him of attacking her at least four times, including once when she was pregnant.

She alleges that Macca, 64, pushed her over a coffee table, shoved her into a bath, grabbed her round the neck and slashed her in the armwith a broken wine glass.
