Of all the different portrait themes I've taken on, fairies were always my least favorite. I guess I just saw them as sappy like rainbows and unicorns.

Well, I think Tinkerbell came into my bedroom one night and sprinkled pixie dust over me whilst asleep cuz now I'm finding myself quite fairy friendly. Must have a lot to do with my snookums Ava being a fairy fan (she's got 'em in the backyard AND the john!). To quote The Monkees, "Now I'm a believer".

The positive aspect of this new-found "respect" for them shows up in this latest Toil Girl. Not only did I not cringe when Angelica's hubby said, "Oh yeah, and draw her with fairy wings, will ya?", but I put tons of love and sweat into this piece. More precisely I put more TIME into this one. This pup took a whoppin' two weeks to finish. The most time I've ever spent on one of these portraits and I enjoyed myself immensely. By far the most tedious part was the fur on them critters. The blasted deer took a full 9 hour day!

Anyways, I'm quite happy with the piece and I can't wait to get feedback from the client's wife. :)

Thanks very much for taking the time to look, all.

By the way, has Dimensions ever considered creating an Art Forum? There's sincerely not a whole lot that gives me as big a thrill as seeing a fellow FA artist displaying his latest creations here. If I polled every fellow on Dimensions and asked what their favorite art subject is, I'd have to assume the words big, beautiful women would scream out from their keyboards.
