... I really liked it when it first came out in the cold winter of 1988 and I heard it on the radio for the first time, driving up Burnet Road in Austin. Somehow, it was the perfect song for that late morning drive on a cold, sunny day.
Then the radio killed it with overplaying. I couldn't take the barrage. Later GNR overplaying did the whole band in for me after that.
Now, almost 20 years later and after many years of avoiding corporate radio, it just comes up on my random sampling of all my zillion songs on my hard drive... it's an old friend once again. I have to forgive it the past trespasses, and I know it forgives me as we settle down again and I can appreciate it as a great song once again.
