I thought it would be nice to have a thread in which people share various free sites or tools from the internet that they use on a regular basis, which might come in handy for others, as well. So, here we go...
Google Desktop!! I discovered this nifty tool several months ago, and now I wouldn't want to live without it! I have it installed at work, and it's been very handy on many occasions in finding something on my computer that I would otherwise spend a much longer time looking for. It can be downloaded onto your computer, so that a little box appears in your toolbar, which is what I prefer, or you can set up an entire new toolbar that shows on the side of your screen with other options besides the desktop search. You can also access it simply from the google home page. Instead of searching the entire web, it searches only your computer for the term you've chosen...and it's fast! So far, I haven't found anything about it that I don't like.
