Thanks to all the rain we've been getting here in Texas, I'm still unable to finish our deck. So I did a few inside projects today.

Sandie and I realized recently that part of the reason that our knees hurt as bad as they do is that our living room furniture is too low, and we're straining to get up and sit down. So I did something about it today.

The first project was a make a box to put under Sandie's favorite chair. It's made from 2 x 4s, covered with plywood, with 1 x 3s forming a frame around the top to hold the chair in place on top of it. Here's how it looked on my workbench:

The next project was to make some boxes to raise our couch and love seat. I made a pair of boxes for each out of 2 x 4s and 1 x 3s. Here's how they looked on my workbench - the love seat is on the bench, the couch pair is standing up in front:
