Haven't had much of an opportunity to get online lately, as the internet cafe in my apartment building shut down last month. Also, my little guy gets pretty impatient with me if I spend more than 15-20 minutes not kow-towing to him
I am still in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Our initial custody hearing date of November 29 was moved to January 24, as the magistrate hearing our case went on vacation. Apparently, they've never heard of hiring more than one judge at a time in this corner of the world After the custody hearing, we must wait a minimum of 3 months to petition for adoption. So I will be in Malaysia for at least another 5-6 months, since even if I were lucky enough to go right back to court exactly 3 months from being granted custody (that in itself not likely), I must then wait for the birth certificate and then, must be interviewed by the American consulate and wait to have permission granted to bring Jegan into the U.S. What a "thrill" ride this has been. But, it will all be worth it in the end. When Jegan smiles at me, it makes anything possible.
Here are a few photos, taken recently:
This is me & Jegan with my nieces, Tasha & Melina:
And Jegan a week ago, right before we shaved his head (it's an Indian thing):
Happy Holidays to everyone, and best wishes for the New Year.
