I'd like your opinion on whether something constitutes hate speech, and whether it should be banned from this board:
In one of the threads in Hyde Park, a poster used the language "...This faggoty ass PC society.." whilst making a criticism of people's reaction to a political cartoon.
I find this kind of slur as hateful and disgusting as the "N-word" (the use of which is, quite rightly, not allowed on Dims)...
Is it an unfair double-standard that the same intolerance for abusive language against ethnic minorities does not extend to gay-bashing remarks like the one cited above?
What do you all think?
