Hattie Noel, the actress behind Hyancinth Hippo

Cartoon Brew recently broke this great bit of animation history, Hattie Noel as the original animator reference for the hippo ballet in Fantasia:

They didn't have any footage of her modeling so they included a wonderful YouTube clip of Hattie taking center stage in a song and dance number from the film "Irene."

So nice to see this escape the vault and Hattie get some credit for her part in creating such a memorable scene.
