I am simply dumbfounded. I saw in my Yahoo group pending members someone trying to join who said,
"you and i,, now i know why my agent wanted me to use the name velvetchiara,, we are each others double,, and i would love to chat to you,,and get some tips xx take care chiara"
So I look at her profile, and hit the link to her site-
http://www.velvetchiara.moonfruit.com/
I look at her gallery, and it is filled with photos of ME! Out of 11 photos there are 4 of her and 6 of me, and 1 of a model that I photographed, which is utterly laughable as she has tweeked the coloring given the model I shot was african american! While she didnt bother to go to the fuss it takes to do hair, makeup, shoot on location, etc she did go out of her way to change to cheesy subtitles, example; "Chiara's boobs".
I am absolutely astounded not only by the almost suspect stupidity, but by the audacity of someone making a crap site littered with photos not their own, but MINE, and proclaiming to be a model!
I know that people will say thats what happens when you post pix of yourself online, but does anyone know what rights we as online models have in protecting ourselves legally from frightening, fraudulent impersonaters?
I am so angry that someone would take my pix as well as associate themselves with my name in this manner. Has anyone else dealt with this? Would love some advice.
Thanks,
Velvet
