This week, I'll be seeking the definitive collection of the English pop group Herman's Hermits. In my readings, I found that the name "Herman" was derived form the bespectacled cartoon character "Sherman" from the beloved "Rocky & Bullwinkle Show."

Do you all remember the line from the Paul Davis song "'65 Love Affair?" when he sang, "Rock and Roll was simple and clean?" Oh well, here's the countdown of the top 12 hits by Herman's Hermits based on the Billboard Charts:

12....This Door Swings Both Ways (#12/66)
11....Leaning On the Lamp Post (#9/66)
10....A Must To Avoid (#8/66)
9.....Just A Little Bit Better (#7/65)
8.....Dandy (#5/66)
7.....Silhouettes (#5/65)
6.....Wonderful World (#4/65)
5.....There's A Kind of Hush (#4/gold/67)
4.....Listen People (#3/66)
3.....Can't You Hear My Heartbeat (#2/64)
2.....I'm Henry VIII, I Am (#1/gold/65)
1.....Mrs. Brown You've Got A Lovely Daughter (1{3 Weeks}/gold/65)

One of their most beloved songs, "I'm Into Something Good" (their very first US hit) ironically, didn't make the top 12. All told, in less than 4 years, they racked up 18 American Top 40 hits.

****whispers in fake English accent***yeahhhh!
