Butterbelly
Melting in the desert
I've found that most people have an idealistic approach to life. We all think about the "American" dream. How do you rate success in life? Does it involve the "American" dream and lots of moolah, or does it involve something else?
In the past, I have based my success off my education, job, and material possessions. But over the years, with more maturity behind me, I rate my success off of how happy I am...which has nothing to do with material possessions, my education, or even my job. The friends I have in my life show me that while I may not be the smartest person out there, the richest person, drive a fancy car, or live in a million dollar home, I'm successful because I've surrounded myself with some fantastic people, who make me laugh, love, and enjoy life. To me, there is nothing more successful than finding complete happiness with yourself.
