What are your ideas? Here's a few:

1. Pick a name that's catchy and refer to yourself in the third person
"AFG is hungry." It makes you seem legendary.

2. Use the natural weakness of n00bs in constantly changing web environments to propel your legend. They don't know you're not top dog if they just joined, do they? Befriend and welcome.

3. Don't trash talk. But don't be afraid to joke either. Be careful, the internet doesn't really facilitate everyone getting your splendid wit. And no one's forced to enjoy it, either.

4. But don't be afraid to have a strong opinion or get involved in something heated. Just don't let it get to you. Conversely, don't be too flippant. That one gets me all the time.

5. Realize that you're gonna make online enemies no matter what...just try not to let it ruin your real life OR online life. It's tough. We all fail. Just try to not fail all the time. And don't plot your enemies' deaths. That gets us no where. If you all died, I sure would be lonely when I'm avoiding deadlines.

6. Let's face it. Show your face, and people will relate to you more.

7. Let's breast it. Show your body and people will masturbate to you more. Then, you can accuse them of being total pigs and have great conversations with others who hate pigs or naked bodies.

8. Communicate. Use IM, PM, Rep systems to say nice things. Don't use them to say bad things, unless you've thought about it for 24 hours.

9. Make yourself relevant to the old guard. They've seen so many New Members, they don't exactly get excited when you say "HI I'm NEW YAY!". Show your true staying power by finding out what they care about. Plus, their rep* counts more.

10. What happens in the Star Trek thread stays in the Star Trek thread. The only thing you should spread around if you want to be legendary is your smiley face and irreverent comments. :) :wubu:

10.5. Spend way too much time online cultivating the perfect online persona. Just never let them know you cry yourself to sleep, you total loser!

*This doesn't matter anymore. Good example why.
