Banned from facebook,
I challenge you to give an example of your state's lawmakers that are involved in more absurd legislation than Arkansas's was yesterday. Thank heavens this group is due to dismiss and go home today. It scares me what they might come up with if they stay in session longer. No, I am not making this up. These guys think this is the "people's business".

(Dr. Feelgood - A special challenge goes out to Oklahoma. Your lawmakers are almost as savy as the Arkies are.)

A bill was introduced to prevent the import of non-human primates into Arkansas. The reasoning behind this was that a group of the lawmakers are afraid
al-Qaeda and Bin Lauden will infect monkeys with Ebola as the monkeys are coming into our state. (And, no we do not have a huge monkey market around here. In fact, no one I know has a monkey except the zoo.)

As the legislators argued this bill during the session, there were several little old ladies who owned pet monkeys who were standing around demonstrating and crying (the ladies were) that they didn't want their little capuchin pet monkeys to be destroyed. It was heartbreaking and yet very weird.
