Hi, everybody...!
I've decided to help kick asthma's ass by participating in my first-ever triathlon at Bear Mountain on Sunday, September 16. It's a 1/2 mile swim, a 13-mile bike ride up the mountain and a 3-mile run. I've been training for 10 weeks, have run through the course twice without dying, and am ready for this Sunday!
I had asthma when I was a kid, at times so profound I couldn't sleep, eat, or move. My mom has it, too, and so did my late Uncle Bob. Place two hands over your mouth and try to breath, and you'll see what it's like. I still have an inhaler, but asthma no longer prevents me from living life as I choose, which is what it's all about, right? Living the best life you can with the cards you're dealt, whether that's age, weight, race, what-have-you.
I'm raising money to benefit the American Lung Association of the City of New York. The association has graciously given me my own page to raise the money, and the NY Daily News is publishing a half-page about my race---and my comparison of two bikes---this Tuesday the 11th.
I hope maybe some folks here will toss a buck or two in the kitty to help people suffering from this nasty disease. I want to show kids they can have asthma, and still grow up to lead a normal life, such as it is, and even run or bike or swim, like me.
I'm hoping my friends here will find it in their hearts and wallets to send a few dollars towards the cause. To donate, click below. And thanks, Dimensions.

Be well, give 'em hell!
