An update to a post I made a while back asking about any convertibles that are particularly size-friendly.
I kept hearing so many good things about the Chrysler Sebring convertible from people who drive them, that I went and checked them out today. I test drove two. One was the touring edition, the other was an older one with less features than the touring edition. The second one was way cramped behind the wheel, I even had a hard time getting my legs in and out. Totally not doable for me so I didn't even waste any more time on it.
The touring edition is my dream car though. It was a 2005. I am going to test drive a 2006 touring either tomorrow or Monday to see how I feel behind the wheel in it before I make any decisions.
But holy crap there was a lot of room behind the wheel in that 2005. There was significantly more room behind the wheel as well as in head-clearance with the top up in the Sebring as in my Ford Explorer. And I had no problems getting in and out. Of course I will need a seatbelt extender, but no worries there.
Who knows... maybe I will actually be able to get it. I was sure I would not be able to find a comfortable convertible that actually "fit" me. But, this seems like it could very well work.
