Posts around 11:30PM my time or later, uses British spellings... that was my first clue Dangeresque wasn't from the States.
Then in Vince's latest passive-aggressive slambook post, he commented that I think my opinions are superior to his, or some crap like that. It read just like the Dangeresque crap.
Then I remembered the other elements of the Dangeresque posts... the thinly-veiled personal attacks, the implication that everyone associated with liking my work was mentally defected, the hasty retreat when weak arguments are challenged... and then, THE SMOKING GUN.
Dangeresque cautioned all the younger artists on what to do and what not to do.
Classic Vince.
I'm not angrier, though. If it's not Vince, well, then, he's a close relative. Or something. Sure, I can live with more than one person being an ass AND not being a fan. That's OK. I go on with my life.
But what first made me make the connection was when I wrote my second post, just now, in which I tried to explain to Vince how he just doesn't seem to understand the community here - the exact same thing Dangeresque seemed oblivious to.
Dangeresque has gone back into his little hole, but Vince has behaved badly outside his cage. Conrad: if you ban one, check the IP address on the other account and, if it's the same, ban the other. This sort of thing is really really bad for the forum if allowed to fester.
