Hi,

My Father died from a stroke this morning at 6:30am. He was 82. I am not "too" sad about his death since his health had been gradually failing over the last 8 years and I was prepared for his death. I think I would feel greater saddness if he had been healthy and had a sudden illness and then died. Several years ago he suffered a stroke, which began his gradual decline in health. I felt more sadness after his first stroke than I feel now. Basically I did a lot of grieving then as we did not know if he would survive that stroke. This time I feel I have already prepared myself for his death and have done a lot of "pre-grieving".

So we will be driving from Winnipeg through the U.S. to Toronto in Ontario for the funeral on Wednesday. I won't be around for a couple of weeks.

Paul.
