Does that ring a bell with you? I haven't heard it in years, but that song was playing on the radio today, and I had to smile (and I bet many of you FAs are smiling, too, at the memory of the lead singer of Romeo Void). Funny thing is, hearing the song gave me a prom flashback, and, alas, ya'll have to read about it.
Picture it, May 1989. My prom date decides to make dinner for us and two other couples. After dinner and wine, we are left alone in his house (parents are out for the evening), cleaning up and drinking more wine. He proceeds to tell me that I am 'rubenesque,' and that one of the ladies who had dined with us told him he should tell me I looked like the lead singer of Romeo Void (and no, I don't really look like her). I don't remember how I responded, but I'm sure I just thanked him for the compliments.
Prom was a lot of fun, and I'm glad I went, but my poor date didn't score, although he did end the night with moi and another lovely young lady in his company. He was much luckier a couple of weeks later, if I recall, ha ha.
Completely off-topic: I cut my hair today, and there was more on the floor when the stylist finished than there is on my head right now. I had no idea there was so much of that stuff hanging off my scalp!
