Oh, my God!! I could have wrote this opinion piece. I agree with Fouad Ajami 100%. Just the other day I predicted Obama would be compared to President Johnson. Johnson with an unpopular war overseas and massive spending at home. It's where the phrase guns vs. butter started. Just like Obama, Johnson never wanted to be tied down in a foreign war, but to manage his “Great Society” program. (Wonder why Obama never came up with a name like New Deal or Great Society??) Is history going to repeat itself? Who is the Republican Ronald Reagan that will save the day?
He even calls Obama's economic stimulus a failure! Just what I have been saying.
