Rebecca's thread about her Mom spoiling her got me thinking - it might be fun to talk about if our Mom (or Dad, or whoever raised us) was a good cook.

I'll go first. My Mom was not a good cook. She was okay at best. She made the same 4 things all the time and only occasionally made other stuff. Her regular meals were: Steak, Baked Chicken, Broiled Hamburgers and...tuna fish salad (when she didn't feel like cooking). They were all ordinary (nothing fancy) but not bad, really.

Occasionally she made a roast beef, or pork chops or lamb chops. But not very often.

oh, and she made the worst brisket - I thought I hated brisket, but it turns out I only hated my mother's brisket!

So what about you? were you raised by someone who delighted your taste buds and turned you into a foodee?
