Yesterday Louise went to the kidney specialist and was told that her GFR now is about 34. Mine is about 60. Fortunately Louise's GFR has stabilized so, at the moment, it does not appear that dialysis is in her immediate future.
Still, when I left the doctor's office to bring the car around for Louise it was a beautiful day so I started singing, "Oh what a beautiful morning.".
When I and my wheelchair reached the car and the song had ended I heard a voice beside me say, "This is the first time I have ever participated in a duet while leaving the doctor's office." As I wheeled around and looked there was an elderly woman using a cane behind me and she had a very happy smile on her face.
