I have maybe watched Oprah once in the past 5 years, but last night accidentally flipped by when Stacy London from What Not To Wear was on discussing Jean Therapy.
She had some interesting points. Like avoid detailing like sand blasting and that crinkle/wrinkle look in places that you wouldn't necessarily want noticed because it is like a spotlight.
Booty, hips and thighs. She said if you can find jeans that fit in those three places, no matter what the problem with fit in the length or waist is buy them and get them tailored.
She also said to throw out all of your tapered jeans, that was an immensely hard habit for me to break.
Another point was if you are 5'4 and under and have large thighs, you don't want to wear boot cut jeans. Apparently it makes your legs look short and truncated. She also mentioned something about making your thighs look chunkier as well, to which Justin objected to stopping that practice.
There were a few other points she made about "muffin tops" and jeans that make your bottom look flat.
SO my question is....does anyone put that much thought into their jeans? I am lucky when I find them in a size that will fit my hips. I do avoid boot cut or any kind of flair because my legs are really short and my thighs make them look even shorter. I feel like I am walking around committing crimes against jeanery.
