In the past Jerry was very active in the Michigan NAAFA groups. There are people who read this board who knew him.

Biography

Gerald “Jerry” L. Lamb, age 61, of Rehoboth Beach, DE, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 26, 2008, at the Beebe Medical Center in Lewes, DE. Jerry had long battled heart, kidney, and diabetes obstacles.

Jerry was born on July 21, 1947, in Alpena, Michigan. He graduated from Catholic Central High School in Alpena and Aquinas College in Grand Rapids, Michigan with a degree in music. Jerry was a music teacher for several schools in Michigan. He was also employed as a mortgage banker in Michigan, Pennsylvania, and Delaware, and was co-owner of “Aloha, Rehoboth” in downtown Rehoboth Beach, DE for several years.

Jerry worked tirelessly for social justice and peace. He was enthusiastic about politics and committed to equality for all. Jerry worked for local, state, and national Democratic candidates dedicated to positive change in the world. Jerry received the “Distinguished Service Award” from the Delaware Democratic Party in 2007.

An avid college football fan and lover of patriotic songs, Sousa marches, and Broadway shows, Jerry also enjoyed many trips to his beloved Hawaii over the years.

Jerry is survived by his partner of 21 years, Ed O’Connor, his mother Dorothy Stozenfeld of Omaha, NE and Alpena, MI, his brother and sister-in-law, Randy and Josie Lamb and their children, Amy, Michelle, Kathleen, Carl, and Jack of Omaha, NE, many aunts and uncles, a host of friends, and his family.

Jerry was predeceased by his father Carl Lamb of Alpena, MI, in 1971.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Jude The Apostle Catholic Church, Delaware Rt. 1 at Five Points on Wednesday, December 3, 2008 at 11:00 AM where friends may call one hour prior to Mass. Friends may also call at the Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium, Atkins-Lodge Chapel, 16961 Kings Highway, Lewes, DE on Tuesday, December 2, 2008 from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM. Burial will be at Henlopen Memorial Park, in Milton, DE.

Flowers will be accepted or contributions may be made to the National Kidney Foundation, 10 East 33rd St, New York, NY 10016.
