Some of you knew Jerry Lamb when he was active in the Micighan (SP) chapters of NAAFA. I was told today that he died yesterday.
One thing that may have hurt him at the start of his diabeties was that for a long time, I do not know how long, people noticed that he drank an amazing amount of water but no one thought to suggest that he have his sugar levels checked. How much damage was done during that time of no control I do not know but it surely did not help.
When I would visit friends who were diabetic and had testers I would ask them to let me check myself. One February I was fine. In May my sugars were high so I found out about it within about 2 or 3 months of the time my sugars started to go high.
That was about 15 years ago.
