The Duplex Cabaret
61 Christopher Street at 7th Avenue
New York NY (close to the #1 train, Sheridan Square stop)
7 PM sharp---come right after work!
10$ admission with two-drink minimum
45 minute show
The club has tables and chairs and will most likely accomodate bigger people, but feel free to call ahead if you have special needs at:
(212) 255-5438
Reservations strongly suggested, click here:
Duplex reservations
Join The Maxes as we make our 2009 debut, our first since being signed to MPL Communications, the publishing company of Sir Paul McCartney, for the album I recorded and released titled "The Maxes" almost exactly two years ago.
The four-piece band---bass, drums, guitar, vocals---is best described as a combination of Brian Setzer and Sandi Patti, or Ethel Merman if you will. Our singer, my wife, Julie James, has a zillion-octave plus-sized range that can be heard in all 5 boroughs with no microphone. We're fast, furious and tuneful, and feature much harmony. We sing about money, sex, death, love, silent movies, televisions, forgiveness, betrayal, jailbait and more.
Here's what our own Bill Sherman had to say:
