I just have a few questions I was hoping you guys could help me out on.
First question: I've heard that if you gain weight and stay that way for awhile it becomes your "Setpoint" and is really hard to come back down. How long would you say you have to stay a certain weight before this happens. For instance I know I've been 215 pounds for a least a year. That's up from 180 2 years ago. And now I can't get my weight down no matter how hard I excercise.
Second question: Is there a certain weight/height ratio that would be considered fat just from the info. Say someone tells you they are 5'10 and 260 pounds would you instantly think they were fat from those numbers? And if so what would that ratio be?
Third question: Stretch marks. If you gain weight gradually is there less chance of getting stretch marks and how gradual of a gain? And does lotion and vitamin E help skin elasticity when gaining?
I know there's a lot of questions here...just bare with me.
Fourth question: Do certain foods contribute to different kinds of fat. Say dairy foods like icecream make softer fat than meat. And can you gain a lot of fat from foods that are considerably healthy such as peanut butter or quacamole? And is that better for you in the long run?
Fifth question: Can you determine what kind of shape you'll have with extra pounds just by what you look like now? Cause I seem to gain weight all over. But I do get a lot of weight in the belly area.
Sixth question: Excluding those who are body builders and go to the gym all the time...if you have a bmi of 30 does that necessarily mean your fat? Or obese? Which the dictionary defines as grossly fat or overweight. And my bmi is 31 and I don't think I'm "GROSSLY FAT OF OVERWEIGHT". Just a little chubby.
