So tonight, I got a call from my boss, asking if i could come over and stay with the dogs, because they had to go to MA to pick up the baby.
Appearantly the birth mom couldnt do it, the baby cried all night, and she said nothing she did worked. When my boss arrived at the birth moms house, she was waiting with the baby in the driveway, in nothing more than a blanket (38 degrees here). The baby's eyes were swollen and red and glassy from crying so much and the birth mom couldnt hand her back soon enough.
When my boss got home, she took her from the car seat, and just handed her to me, and i kissed her, and was greeted with a big smile.
Since it was late I got going home, but did get a little info that, normally the 60 day waiting period would have to begin again here in CT, but because she took her back, and has demonstrated mental illness to the social worker herself, The social worker can petition teh ocurt to put the adoption through sooner, somehow, I will know more details tomorrow. The birth mother did say she would sign whatever and never bother them again.
I just wanted to share our good news with everyone, and thank those of you who were supportive of the situation. Miracles do happen
And , even though this one night caused so much pain for all of us, if the birth mom needed this one night to try, and know that she made the right choice for everyone, then it was well worth it.
