Fair is and odd term, its definition depending greatly on the person asked to define it.

The concept of blind justice, that each person stands equal before the law regardless of class or means is an ideal to which many cultures have striven.

More recently in human society the thought that people should be given special accommodation due the means, class, or circumstance has become prevalent. People considered disadvantaged in some way have been given a higher place than those of other groups.

What is truly fair and what position should a government take when leading a diverse people ? Can all people stand equally before the law or are there mitigating circumstances that modify the laws impact for some ? I know there will always be truly disabled and handicapped people who must be accommodated, this really applies to the other 95% of us.
