Lions don't need to spank
I know we have engaged days of discussions when Pixar's WALL-E was released in theaters this summer. The subject was the depiction and cinematic treatment of fat people in the movie. I was one of the folks that was not happy about the overall lesson Pixar seemed to be trying to teach using just our fat little bodies.
Anyway, the DVD is going to be released this coming Tuesday and the TV has been flooded with commercials previewing the movie. I have watched at least a dozen of these commercials in my area of the country. What I immediately noticed is that there was NOT A SINGLE FAT PERSON SHOWN IN ANY OF THE ADVERTISEMENTS. None. Zippo.
What is going on with these ads Mr. Pixar? Let me guess. Are you trying to avoid conflict so you can sell more DVDs? Mmmm? I would be interested to know if anyone in other parts of the country (or world) have seen fat people depicted in commercials about WALL-E?
