Big Moves Boston and Greater Boston NOW present
Love Your Body (reception and performance showcase)
Tuesday, October 7 * 7 p.m.
Cambridge Public Library, 45 Pearl St. (Lewis Room)
Admission: Free!
Details at http://www.bigmoves.org/boston.html
Body positivity gets a big Boston boost at this celebration of body diversity and size acceptance. The thought-provoking program includes excerpts from Big Moves' upcoming show, Hot Buffet (a dystopian musical satire, running October 16-25 at the Cambridge YMCA). Also on the program are Johnny Blazes from the Femme Show (running October 10-11 at the Cambridge YMCA), modern dancer Marsha Jael, and folk guitarist Liz Oehlschlaeger. And yes, there will be snacks.
The reception officially kicks off LOVE YOUR BODY, a radical display of body positivity running October 1 through 31 at the library. LOVE YOUR BODY is a mixed-media exhibit of art, propaganda, and the naked truth about how loving your body, whatever your size, shape, color, or ability, can change the world you live in. Inspired by NOW's Love Your Body Day (October 15), LOVE YOUR BODY is curated/produced by Big Moves, with additional materials from the NOW Foundation.
