I was reading an article on page 47 of the January 9 issue of TIME Magazine and the following sentence caught my attention:
""Former NBA star Stephon Marbury -- or Mabuli, as he is known in China -- is the biggest crossover."
Mabuli? The Chinese call him Mabuli, or is this what TIME thinks it comes out as when a Chinese language speaker says Marbury?
That made me think of how accents are often used to make statements.
Mabuli -- did TIME blow it here, or not?
