I've decided I'm not running a conventional paysite. Yeah, I charge for folks to click on the pics, but I got nothing that's standard nudity, and I'm starting to feel like distancing myself from the bare bellies, as I know they may not be garden-variety nudity, but, well... yeah. Not totally against them, but I do have a few concerns.
Anyway... so I'm doing the commissions and all and if/when I do morphs again, they'll be of advertisements, not movie stars. What I started doing in 2000, mocking ultra-skinny celebrities, has kinda turned into something different. I went through a "grind out the pics" phase when it really wasn't fun, but I'm getting back to statement-making, which is fun.
I want to show beauty in larger sizes and the impact of advertising on public sensibilities. Those are my two goals. I don't really want to make any more pix of hottt chix, at least not just for the sake of getting another update out. I don't want to be chained to my graphics program anymore.
So I'm thinking I'll re-do the content at my site. Current subscribers need not fear. Future patrons will see a change in the way I handle the transactions. I plan to re-group images by subject and then make them into online "books", to borrow an analogy. Pay for access, read your book, enjoy. No need to pay a recurring fee unless you want to see everything all the time, plus subscriber bonuses. Or maybe not... I'll have to think about that, and I'd certainly appreciate feedback and ideas.
I plan to use part of my vacation (and the days afterward...) to re-structure my site and make it more analagous to a book store than a subscription site.
(One question, strictly procedural, would be if I sold one-off access to images like that, would that make me a non-link-in-sig paysite or would I be allowed to link in my sig? Like I said, strictly procedural and Conrad knows I'll play by his rules in his sandbox.
)
For everyone else, though, is this something our community needs? Is this something you would look into buying, even if you hadn't patronized paysites before?
I don't think I'll do any worse than I've done before, and I hope I wind up doing better, but I for sure want to do something both principled and fun.
(DISCLAIMER: There are paysite people on this very forum who I consider good friends and great people. They are having fun doing what they do, and the rest really isn't any of my business. (Even though I PM them about it anyway...
) I'm NOT saying I'm better or worse than them because I'm different, just that I'm different. In fact, if it hadn't been for some of their support, I wouldn't be considering this change of direction.)
