Ladies (gents?) have we had a thread like this before?
What type or item of clothing have you tried on that makes it look like you're doing a fat photo shoot, whether you want to or not?
I was thinking about this question when I returned a Lands End soft knit twinset through the mail the other week. It looked beautiful in the catalog, all soft and flowy and feminine, but when it came in the mail, it was very thin material and it...grabbed and clung allover. And I mean ALLover. Even though there seemed to be yards of fabric, it was still weirdly tight and clingy. I really disliked it and it had to go.
I was reminded, through that purchase, that I really do like more structured clothing. Heavier fabric can be a key to this effect, as I feel it doesn't cling to everything. I find I adjust my clothing 20 times an hour if it doesn't have the heft to skim or lay flat.
What have you tried on that, when you looked at yourself in the mirror, made you feel less 'casual wear' or 'office wear,' and more 'Fredericks of Hollywood wear?'
