I just made the first batch of pesto with the new basil from the farmers market! O.M.G.
Of course, I reek of garlic, and had to sneak a few pignoli to crunch on while I taste-tested for correct amounts of oil and cheese. I love those buttery little nuts.
Some friends are coming over for dinner, so I'm going all out Italian.
Fresh pesto, tomato and mozzarella for starters,
Osso Bucco in Vodka Sauce with Rigatoni and a Caesar salad on the side for main course and then Strawberries with Balsamic Vinegar for dessert...
All to be washed down with a Barolo I found a while back, for reasonable coin.
