Marsha Menard, who had been training to start a cross country walk this Valentine's Day, became infected with pneumonia which became severe enough to put her in the hospital. After being released a first time, and impatient with waiting for a taxi, she walked two miles home in the rain, suffered a relapse, and went back to ER a second time. She went back for a third time before she got to her doorstep, too winded to reach it from the taxi.
She has been taken to ICU in this hospital in her home town. Even there, so fierce a fighter is she that they have to sedate her to keep her from shaking the tubes and needles loose.
It appears a few minutes ago she was cleared to go to San Francisco, to a hospital there which has higher capacity diagnostics.
More as we hear it.
