The latest high was almost 1,300 simultaneous users, a very high number. Little old Dimensions now seems to have more traffic than some rather highly touted forums out there.
What bothers me is the ratio between members and guests. Many sites have a 50/50 ratio. Ours is more like 20/80 members to guests, and sometimes worse. Nothing inherently wrong as it's all free anyway. But still. I pay for the hardware, maintenance and bandwidth, and if so many people come here for fun and entertainment, I'd really like to see it be more of a business and revenue generator. I mean, I spend a lot of time on it, so it's no crime to expect something back in return as I am not independently wealthy, far from it.
So I'll be putting my thinking cap on and see if I can't think of ways to generate a bit extra from all this new traffic. There's got to be ways that work for all involved.
