I think that there's another thread like this, but screw it. I'm making another.
Just say what movie sequences are your favorite, or the ones you consider to be extremely memorable. It can be wordless, or it can be a whole monologue; it can be romantic, or violent; it can be a single shot or it can be a whole sequence.
Oh, and if there's spoilers? Mark 'em, will ya? Nothing worse than scrolling down and seeing "XXXXXXXX DIES".
So anyways, to get down to it.
"Great shot, kid! That was one in a million!"- Star Wars, 1977
The destruction of the Death Star is still an amazing thing to see. I feel like standing up and applauding whenever I see it.
"Like tears... in the rain."- Blade Runner, 1982
The speech that Rutger Hauer gives at the end of this film is so incredibly beautiful. I have a clip from it as my shutdown sound on my computer.
Lady Liberty's Walk Through NYC- Ghostbusters II
After soaking the inside with ooze, the boys steer the Statue of Liberty through the streets of Manhattan... using an NES controller. It's just incredibly uplifting and funny.
Storming the Beach- Saving Private Ryan
This blew my mind when I saw it- it was the most realistic view of warfare I had ever seen at that point in my life. It still is among the best war scenes in cinema.
