My girlfriend and I just watched this over the weekend, and I loved it!
It was made in the mid-70s, and followed several up-and-comers in the Texas singer/songwriter scene, such as Guy Clark, Steve Earle, and the late Townes VanZandt, amoung others.
It was not at all what I was expecting.
First, the film-maker was just about invisible in it, leaving the subjects to discuss whatever they felt like.
Second, I had no idea how much of a community existed around Guy and Susanna Clark.
Third...oh, I dunno...maybe there is no 'third'.
Damn, what a good movie!
Anyone else care to add to that?
I'd be interested in your take.
