We decided to put in a doggy door and set up a doggy run so our puppies could play outside if they wanted. So here it is.
This is the ramp leading up to the doggy door. Doggy doors are designed for use in doors, but I wanted to make the opening through the wall of the house. So I built a plywood box slightly larger than the doggy door, and mounted that in the dining room wall. Once that was in, I cut the hole in the siding and mounted the door.
The ramp is actually two ramps. I tried using a single ramp, but Frankie slid down it as if it was a slide. So I changed it to two ramps so they're not as steep.
Another view of the ramps.

The enclosure is six feet wide and 18 feet long - plenty of room for two mini weiner dogs to run around.
