There's a small railroad museum about 30 minutes from my house that does train rides in the summertime. I popped in today for the first time and learned that they own the train which made all the sound effects for the movie "The Polar Express". Interestingly enough, the train's number is "1225". I was allowed to climb inside the cab and stand where the engineer stands and everything. The gap between the coal car and engine is TINY, but I managed.
Here are some pictures. For perspective, I'm 6'2 in height and for the front shot of 1225 I was standing upright with the camera at eye level. The drive wheels are about five feet tall. (And I thought my Jeep's 35 inch tires were big!)
Here's a small locomotive letting off some steam at the end of it's shift, selective color done by me.
Backing up.
