Therefore, I ask with great curiosity how I should broach the subject of unpaid travel time with my boss.
I live in St. Catharines, obviously. We're more often than not expected to work in Toronto; just today I had to be up at 4:45 to be in for work at 6, and then our crew spent close to 2 and a half hours on the road en route to the job site. Problem is, we only get paid for an hour, total, which never comes close to compensating for our time spent diddly-fucking in a stank-ass crew van.
Does this seem fair to anyone else? Frankly, I think it's bullshit, as do my coworkers. Unfortunately, though, we're easily-replaced flunkies, so I'm not sure how much a chance I have of affecting any sort of positive change. Suggestions?
(Other than "Get a new job." I'm happy where I am, thank you.)
