I never really considered myself a person who gets into hobbies and such, like some folks take up pottery, collecting stuff and so on. Maybe, being a workaholic and just generally being busy most of the time, there simply wasn't room in my life for anything else. And Dimensions certainly keeps me busy, and doing all the stuff around the house, and so on.
That changed over the past three years. With NAAFA out of the way I actually began having a bit of time for myself. First I got into tuning and racing cars and that turned out to be a lot of fun. I discovered a whole new world that I had only known ancillarily before. I got involved with some great people, learned a lot, began writing FAQs on superchargers and engine computer tuning, and sort of became the moderator and guru on some import tuning sites. And burned a whole lot of rubber in the process. Hehe...
Now something else caught my fancy and it's tons of fun as well. Scuba. I enrolled in an Open Water scuba diver certification course, hit the books, studied all I could about diving physics and physiology, equipment, dive tables, residual nitrogen, oxygen toxicity, and just plain old skills. And spent a good bunch of time underwater. Last weekend were the final open water certification dives. What an experience! The first time you take a breath underwater, you never forget that. And the first time you sit at the bottom, way down deep and look up, just barely seeing the surface, or not at all. There's a lot of fun stuff out there.
