Hi everyone,

I'm Larry, I'm 6 ft tall and currently weigh 246 lbs. I've been fat all my life. My highest weight was 428 lbs. Currently, obviously I'm dieting, a combo of intense family pressure and anti-fat attitudes from my father and my stepmother, and basically to give it a whirl myself. But I'm not here to promote dieting for anyone else.

I've been a lurker for awhile and am glad to see an ACTIVE fat community. I see even the NAAFA boards get little traffic these days.

I decided to take the plunge and register to ask about clothing sizes, which I did in the clothing forum.

I see these boards are tied to the magazine Dimensions. So just to let you know, while I think it's awesome that a mag exists (or existed) for larger people, I'm not here to "hook up" or anything, I'm just posting because I see it seems to be an active fat community in a large range of interests. Although I do think that large women are every bit as beautiful as thinner women, I find them equally attractive, and it was a gay man who made me realize that fat cannot only be accepted but attractive to other people. Unfortunately, I am not gay, but I was most flattered and after having been maligned for most of my life for my large size, it was a real wake up call that being fat can not only be accepted but something to be celebrated.

So there you are, that's my story, just thought I'd make an introduction.

Larry
