I talked to my brother last night. They did a mastectomy yesterday, and while that's never "good" news, it turned out better than they had first thought.

I will spare you the gory details. Let's just say the surgeon believes he got all of the cancer. Of course, she will have to undergo chemotherapy and all of the other unpleasant things that go along with this situation.

My brother sounded in very good spirits and so did my sister-in-law. In fact, she was bitching about losing her hair during chemo. I told her not to worry about it. When that happened, she and I would have our picture taken together. To which she replied with a resounding "HELL NO !!!!".

I want to thank each and every one of you for your thoughts and prayers. You have no idea how much they meant to my family and I. Thank you, thank you, thank you, my friends.

May this be the beginning of many good things to come for all of us.
