News: Obese girls much less likely to attend college

After tracking 11,000 American adolescents, a study released Monday found that following secondary school, obese girls in the U.S. were half as likely to enrol in college, versus their non-obese peers.

nterestingly the report found that obese boys "did not differ from their peers — no matter what their school context — in college enrolment."

Although they're defining "obesity" in terms of BMI, the stat seems relatively accurate.

But a) did they HAVE to say fat girls were more likely to consider suicide, and b) why should whether someone gets into college matter anyway, considering you can learn ANYTHING without going to one? (And much cheaper too.)
