I had one last night- worst one I ever had, I think.
It was the first time I ever woke up just as I was about to die- or at least, the first time that happened that I remember. I still remember most of the dream very vividly, and I jsut wish I could describe it better, or draw it.
But how about some of your nightmares, Dimensions members? Let's share our ventures into surrealistic fear.
It was...
Some sort of a hospital. Mental institution, I'm pretty sure. There was a courtyard, with grass, and a chain-link fence with a gate and razor wire spearating the stairway from the rest of the yard. It's indoors, and the walls are heavy brick. The lighting comes from nowhere; it's natural and dim with no possible source. On the wall opposite the stairs is a small alcove leading to... who knows?
I'm watching some sort of rendezvous. A police officer- female, blond, slim- is leading a dark-haired little girl down the steps to meet with somebody. It looks as normal as a mother taking her daughter to stay with her grandparents for the night.
From the alcove comes this... creature. Grotesque, with long limbs and neck, an dcovering its head, a triangular steel helmet. Oddly enough, the girl seems perfectly fine, not at all frightened, as if this was something that was a common event.
The two humans exit through the gate in the fence and walk over to the thing. Something goes wrong. The cop pulls her gun to fire it, but this thing strikes her with a backhanded blow, tearing open her face and knocking her to the ground. The girl runs into the alcove, and the breature begins to stalk back and forth outside of the fence, as if pacing. It's almost like a hungry tiger eying its prey when it's just out of reach.
I notice that the gate is still open- I dash to the side and try to slam it closed and lock it, but...
The latch is broken.
It swings all the way open.
The creature hears this and dashes towards it as I flee up the stairwell. It's faster, and as I look back, I see that gruesome thing clawing at my face.
I die.
And awaken in a cold sweat.
